How it works
01
Take the bill subtotal and add your chosen tip percentage. Enter that final number into EsyBill.
02
Type in each person splitting. EsyBill divides tip and all.
03
Everyone gets a link showing exactly what they owe — no app needed.
About this tool
Figuring out a tip at the end of a meal is straightforward when you're dining alone. With a group of four, six, or eight, it turns into a committee meeting. EsyBill acts as both a tip calculator and a bill splitter in one step: enter the total including tip, add the names of everyone at the table, and share the link before anyone has reached for their wallet.
The fastest method: take 10% of the bill (move the decimal point left once), then adjust up for the service level. For 20%, double the 10% figure. For 15%, take the 10% figure and add half of it. Once you have the tip amount, add it to the subtotal and type that combined figure into EsyBill. The calculator splits the whole amount — including tip — evenly across however many people are in the group.
If someone ordered significantly more, switch to EsyBill's percentage or exact-amount mode. Assign each person their fair share — orders plus a proportional slice of the tip — and the tool handles the arithmetic down to the last cent.
Large-table tipping gets complicated when the restaurant adds a service charge automatically. Check whether a service charge is already included before adding another tip on top. If it is included, enter the billed total directly and split. If not, add your preferred percentage and then split. Either way, share the EsyBill link in the group chat and everyone knows their number — no chasing, no awkward round-up negotiations at the table.
FAQ
15% is the minimum for acceptable service, 18-20% is standard for good service, and 25% or more for exceptional service. In India, 10% is common at restaurants that do not already include a service charge.
Move the decimal one place left to get 10% (e.g., Rs.850 becomes Rs.85), then double it to get 20% (Rs.170). Add that to the original bill total. Or just enter the post-tip total into EsyBill and split it.
Conventionally, tip is calculated on the pre-tax subtotal — but in practice most people tip on the total shown on the bill. Either way, enter whatever total you agree on and EsyBill divides it.
The simplest fair method: tip on the whole bill as a group, divide the total (including tip) by head count. If someone ordered significantly more, use custom-amount mode to assign different shares.
EsyBill splits whatever total you enter. To include tip, add your tip percentage to the bill total before entering it, or simply enter the full amount already shown on the receipt including service charge.
Enter the total — tip included — and share one link. Free and instant.
